Five mistakes agents make with new referrals

Waiting too long to make contact is the most expensive one. Speed to first call is consistently the largest single factor in whether a referral converts, and it decays quickly.

Treating every referral identically is the second. A buyer three months out needs a different cadence from one who is pre-approved and viewing this weekend.

The rest are familiar: not logging attempts, giving up after two calls, and failing to ask what would need to be true for the person to move. None of these are difficult to fix, but all of them are easy to skip when the pipeline feels full.
